Soulful

You stared, entranced,

at the starry night sky, 

lips parting in awe. 

But all I could see

was the tilt of your head,

and the curious

curve of your smile. 

How my chest ached, 

and how my heart fluttered,

for a turn beneath the

warmth of your gaze. 

I wished more than anything, 

hoped that in another life,

I could be the light

that lives in your 

soulful eyes.
